TetanusRMM

Install the support tools

The support TUI and the remote desktop viewer, for Linux and Windows.

  1. Download the support TUI

    Download tetanus-rmm 0.1.9

One file, tetanus_rmm-0.1.9-py3-none-any.whl, for Linux and Windows. Keep its name as it is.

  2. Install it

The TUI is installed with uv, which also provides Python. Run these in a terminal, in the folder you downloaded the file to.

    Windows (PowerShell)

powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://astral.sh/uv/install.ps1 | iex"

Open a new PowerShell window so uv is found, then:

    cd $HOME\Downloads
    uv tool install .\tetanus_rmm-0.1.9-py3-none-any.whl

    Linux

    curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | sh

Open a new terminal so uv is found, then:

    cd ~/Downloads
    uv tool install ./tetanus_rmm-0.1.9-py3-none-any.whl

Already have uv or pipx? Skip the first command; pipx install ./tetanus_rmm-0.1.9-py3-none-any.whl works too. To update later, download the new file and add --force.

  3. Open it and sign in

    tetanus-rmm

Enter this server, then your username, password and the code from your authenticator app:

    jellyfin.flyingfox-gentoo.ts.net:8443

The first time you sign in, the TUI may ask whether to trust this server and show a fingerprint. It should read:

    BB:A9:A6:C1:D5:5E:EB:A8:0F:C2:4B:87:93:BC:B3:B8
    D5:D5:CA:60:4F:95:25:30:E5:22:69:5B:E1:FE:5F:4C

If your browser warned you about this page's certificate, confirm the fingerprint with your administrator rather than relying on this page alone.

  4. Remote desktop

The viewer is downloaded by the TUI the first time you start a remote desktop session, and kept up to date from this server.

You do not need to install it yourself. To use your own copy anyway, download it and set viewer_path in the TUI's config: Linux (0.1.9), Windows (0.1.9).
